  6.00 PM to 7.00 PM

 Thu 23 May, 2024

From Bradford to Buckingham Palace

Book now

Visiting Professor and High Sheriff of West Yorkshire Professor Adeeba Malik CBE DL tells how her early experiences in Bradford and Hull made her determined to challenge the inequalities faced by disadvantaged ethnic minorities and women.

In a career spanning 34 years, she has worked with a leading Bradford based national charity QED Foundation as well as government departments and leading public and private sector organisations, to promote social mobility and has also championed working class and northern communities.

But how much has really changed? Why is it difficult for people from some backgrounds to progress than others? And how can we all play a part in creating a fairer and more just society?
